Timing is Everything
Planning your wedding can be tricky even for an experienced planner. Knowing how much time to leave for each thing and making sure that everything fits together and runs smoothly on the day is the key to success.
The first thing you can do is to come to peace with the possibility of something not going exactly to plan. Something always happens. But, the best weddings are the ones where the bride & groom are determined to enjoy themselves and make the most and the best of everything and anything no matter what. The second thing is to consult with your wedding venue, entertainment, photographer and other service providers to ask their opinion on things. Ask them what you can expect from their service, and don't forget to tell them what you want so that they can tell you how much time they require to achieve it. Next, is to take all the info you have gathered and do what will make you happy. Then, try to leave slightly more than enough time for each thing just incase there is a delay along the way.
If you want sunset photos, google your venue's location and time of sunset on your wedding day - there's many websites that offer this info - and double check it to make sure it is accurate. Then, at your venue ask where the sun will be setting. Check if there is a hill or large trees on the horizon that will block the sun earlier than the predicted time of sunset - be prepared for that within your planning. If you work out sunset to be at 7pm then it could be a good idea to plan your day backwards from that point so that you begin your photoshoot still leaving enough daylight to get photos leading up to sunset.
These moment only come along once, so its important to make the correct preparations.
