The venue that will give you the best wedding photography is one that has a lot of variety and options. If it rains or if it is too hot, does the venue have an area that is sheltered?

For the photoshoot you want trees, vineyards, buildings, stunning scenery, etc. The more options we have and the more time we have to explore them, the better variety of pictures you will receive. 

 

 

No rushing, no wasting time

 

Having every part of your wedding take place in the same area is the best. It means no rushing around and possibly getting stuck in traffic and wasting valuable time. But if you have to travel to different locations make sure you plan to leave enough time to do so as you never know what the traffic will be like on the day.

 

You want to enjoy every second of your wedding day. So don't waste time driving around too much.

 

 

Reception decor

 

Brides love to plan out the decorations for their reception venue, browsing around for hours on different websites and shopping malls searching for inspiration, carefully selecting every detail from the table decor, flower arrangements, signage, colour schemes, etc. After putting in all that effort, you will definitely want it all captured on camera and included in your wedding photos. It is a very important element. 

You will have the reception hall set up perfectly. But, it won't look as nice as soon as the guests get in, sit at their tables and start moving everything around. 

 

If you want great photos of your reception venue once it is decorated and before the guest enter then this should ideally be done first. It can take up to 1 hour. For this to happen you will need to be getting ready close to the venue (within 15 minutes drive) so there's no time wasted travelling from there to where you will be getting ready. It has to be arranged that the reception is completely decorated before we arrive.

 

The reason that it is best to do this first is that once we start with your getting ready photos we will stay with you for the rest of the day. It is not always possible to get away to take photos of the reception hall before the guests get in there after the ceremony. We need time to set up and test our lighting equipment (if required) in preparation for the cutting of the cake, throwing the bouquet and garter and all of the dancing shots as well as taking the photos of the decor and hall - the more time we have the better the photos will be.

 

 

Convenient for your guests

 

Choose a venue with suitable access to the nearest main road and adequate parking.

If it rains on your wedding day you don't want your guests driving along a flooded dirt road covered in pot holes or not being able to find a space for there cars once they arrive. 

 

 

A suitable space

 

Don't choose a venue that is too large for the number of guests you will have. If you do the venue will seem empty and lack atmosphere. 

 

 

Party time

 

If you really want your guests to stay and not leave early to make their long journey home then plan your wedding with that in mind.

 

Having accommodation nearby for your guests would be best. That way they can all just enjoy the party without having to leave at a certain time. If paying for hotels or guest rooms nearby is not possible then consider fun alternatives such as camping or glamping.

If it is important for you that the guests stay for a long time then at the very least you can plan your wedding in an area where the majority of find accommodationn. This will allow them to let their hair down fully, party the night away and celebrate with you until the wee hours.
